Thank you to everyone who submitted comments, views and suggestions during the consultation on 2010 Rotherham's second Single Equality Scheme during February, March and April, 2010.
Your involvement in the scheme is very important to help us improve our policies and services and to try to remove or reduce the barriers faced by customers and potential customers of 2010 Rotherham.
The purpose of the Single Equality Scheme is to provide a framework to enable the organisation to tackle discrimination and to take action to remove the barriers that prevent people from accessing our services, employment opportunities and information in a practical way.
The Scheme takes an holistic approach to equality and diversity; the framework allows us to consider many forms of recognised potential discrimination and disadvantage that people may face. In recognising this we will shape and deliver more user-led effective services and employment practices to resolve these issues.
Further informaation on the Scheme will be available in due course. In the meantime, you can read the draft consultation documents here.
