Aids and Adaptations
2010 Rotherham Ltd deliver part of Rotherham Council’s Aids and Adaptations Service. 2010 staff are trained to carry out low level minor aids and adaptations (like installing grab rails, banisters and widening doors) in tenants homes to meet their needs effectively. In 2007 trained craft operatives from within 2010’s In-House Service Provider team, supported by outside specialists, carried out more than 1400 adaptations, including 104 level access (walk-in) showers.
A walk in shower and grab rails have given a Kimberworth Park tenant her independence back.
When the bath became unmanageable, Irene Myers, 88, had to rely on her daughter for help bathing. Now she is over the moon at being able to enjoy a daily shower. Irene’s daughter, Pauline Whitham, 64, a council tenant from Town Lane, said, “The work carried out was excellent and there wasn’t a thing out of place afterwards. All the workers, particularly the tiler, were true professionals”.
