What is 2010 doing about equality for people of different faiths?

2010’s work to address equality in this area has included:

· Including faith on our customer satisfaction forms, so we can tell if customers from different faiths are all receiving a high level of service.

· Using the checking our records surveys to monitor different faiths amongst our customers. So far we have recorded a diversity of faiths including Christians, Jews, Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists and Sikhs. It is important for us to know about our customers faiths so we can provide a better service. 

· We have designed a staff diverse events and celebrations calendar.

· We hosted an interfaith football match with REMA (Rotherham Ethnic Minority Alliance).

· Our services are culturally sensitive, for example, we will not carry out repair work on Fridays for customers of certain faiths who request it.

To further improve our work we will be:

· Providing rolling base line training for staff that covers cross cultural communication.

· Compiling a booklet for staff about different religions.

· Developing a faith at work policy, tailored to our organisation.

· Working more with REMA to support further interfaith activity.
