The Yorkshire and Humber Environment Index is run by Business in the Community, part of The Prince’s Charities group of organisations, of which HRH Prince Charles is President.
The Index benchmarks companies and other organisations within the region against their peers, based on what they are doing to reduce their environmental impact. To be recognised as a ‘Significant Improver’, an organisation must increase its performance in the Index by at least 10% over the year.
2010 Rotherham’s Environmental Improvement Manager, Neil Everest, said: “We are delighted to receive a ‘Significant Improver’ award in recognition of the efforts we have made over the past year.
“One of the core values at 2010 Rotherham is ‘Respecting the environment now and for future generations’, and we are striving to continually improve our environmental performance and efficient use of resources. The Environmental Index is an effective way of measuring our performance and assuring our customers that we are doing everything possible to minimise 2010 Rotherham’s impact on the environment.”
